The Planet Earth we inhabit is confronted with myriad challenges of immense magnitude. These challenges, inter alia, include: global health threats, more frequent and intense natural disasters, forced displacement of people, natural resource depletion and adverse impacts of environmental degradation, including desertification, drought, land degradation, freshwater scarcity and loss of biodiversity etc. Climate change and its adverse impacts in terms of increase in global temperature, sea level rise, ocean acidification etc have put the very survival of many societies and of the biological support systems of the planet at risk.
We at Worldwide Water Future (WWF) endeavor to provide holistic solutions to the existing and potential vast array of problems by striking a semblance of equilibrium between consumption and production along with judicious use of natural resources in a sustainable manner, thereby, facilitating sustained and inclusive economic growth social development, environmental protection and the eradication of poverty and hunger. While maintain an equilibrium in ecological services, we emphasize on application of climate-sensitive technologies, climate-smart agriculture, climate-smart forestry, biodiversity conservation and climate resilience so that humanity can live in harmony with nature, which is the main theme of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) along with their 169 targets and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. In other words, we at Worldwide Water Future endeavor to serve as a catalyst for transforming challenges into opportunities through implementation of the SDG’s and Paris Agreement on Climate Change.
